Operations Update August 31

Operations are now completed in the Larsens Meadow area, wrapping up the the first ever harvest in the Cortes Community Forest. Approximately 15 truck loads of premium Fir, Cedar, & Hemlock logs went to mills on the island and approximately 245 cords of firewood have been sold to supply part of the island’s needs.

Once the wildfire risk has subsided the CFGP will issue personal firewood permits for individuals to go and get firewood left at road side in the operating area.
